Blog/Life Update

Hello beauties!

How are y’all? How was the weekend? I know that this post is coming late but had a crazy weekend. In my last post, I told y’all I would be revealing everything that’s been happening, so here it is.

First of all, did y’all notice that I have a new website domain name and design? Elena from Blogerize reached out to me last week and offered to give my blog a makeover! At first, I was skeptical about the offer but after some research and talking with a fellow beauty blogger, Juliette, I realized this was the real deal. (Click on her name to check her out – she is a great beauty blogger!) I am so happy with my new design. It looks amazing!!! Elena and her team were so receptive of all my questions and took into consideration everything that I wanted in my new design. So now, my blog’s new name is Linda Talks Beauty. I decided to change my blog name because I realized that there were other beauty blogs that had either the same name or a very similar name. I wanted a name that was my own and different from what was already out there.

Second, I reached my first 100 subscribers!!! Woohoo!!! I’m so happy and grateful for all the followers and friends that I have made since my blogging debut in September. I love interacting and connecting with my friends and fellow bloggers. I don’t have very many beauty obsessed friends irl, so being able to come here and share my passion with others, who love beauty just as much as I do, is one of my favorite things to do.

Third, on Saturday I won my first beauty giveaway! I always participate in social media giveaways but I never win. So when I was tagged on an Instagram giveaway as the winner, I was sooooooo happy. I won a pair of false lashes from Luxy Lash called Pretty on Fleek. The lashes look so gorgeous and I can’t wait for it to arrive.

Lastly, I moved back to Austin – another big yay! I was living in Dallas for the past 11 months as part of my grad school program. Now, I have moved back to Austin to complete my clinical rotation. During my clinical rotation, I’ll be working in different laboratories to gain hands-on experience. For those that don’t know, I’m not a full-time beauty blogger or influencer. I am actually aspiring to be a medical laboratory scientist. If you don’t know what a medical laboratory scientist is and want to know, I will be doing a series of posts on this topic later on. This is my beauty blog and I want to focus on beauty but at the same time, I do want to shed some light on the MLS profession. It is a profession that is in high demand yet, not many people know about it.

So far, my blogging journey has been so exciting and fun. I can’t wait to blog more, meet more fellow bloggers, and make more friends. Thank you for all the support and love. I hope y’all had a wonderful Tuesday/weekend and I will ttyl~

You’re a Texas girl?! For some reason, I have my heart set on moving out to Texas….McKinney Texas to be exact but I guess anywhere a little bit outside of Dallas. Although I hear great things about Austin as well. Which do you like better? Also congrats on 100, wishing you many more to come!!!

Yes, I am! Born and raised in Texas!
      Where are you moving from?
I’ve lived in San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin (and basically Houston too). All the major Texas cities are so different from each other, but out of them all, I like Austin the BEST!!!
When I was living in Dallas, I was in NE Frisco, which is right next to McKinney. It’s a nice area and great for families/child-rearing. There’s so many different malls and outlets, as well as a variety of restaurants. But overall, I’m not a fan of all the tolls and the amount of time it takes to commute from one place to another.
On the other hand, Austin is much smaller than Dallas. It’s very Earth-friendly here and the general population is mostly young adults (college to 30) and older adults (60+). Social life here is centered around fitness, pets, art/music, happy hour, and food trucks.
If you move to Austin, maybe we can gather up all the beauty bloggers and do an event – that’d be exciting!
