It’s been a long time since I’ve had a personal chit chat with y’all. I was basically gone all of October and the first half of November. I posted twice last month but that was it. Yes, I know I’ve basically been MIA. I had a few technical issues for the blog, but I’m not going to go into detail about it. Just know that, my two previous posts were supposed to be published way earlier, but I messed up something and had to repost it. Other than blog stuff, there was a lot of other personal stuff going on and today I am finally going to share with y’all what that includes.
A few months after I got Bebe, I started to feel like all the time that Bebe was spending with me and other people wasn’t enough. I felt like she needed an animal friend. So during the second weekend of September, I went to San Antonio to visit family and coincidentally saw a posting on an online pet board that a family was re-homing a male Maltese puppy. I decided to take a look and if it was right, I could adopt this puppy and bring him home to Bebe. I instantly fell in love when I saw him. On the way back to Austin, Chris and I were juggling names and finally decided to name him, Baymax!
Baymax has been with us for about two months now and I have learned a lot about him and what it actually means to raise two puppies at the same time. His personality is completely opposite of Bebe’s. He’s really yappy, gets jealous easily, likes to explore and get into trouble. Despite that, him and Bebe get along pretty well. They are constantly playing and are always within 2-3 feet of each other. It’s pretty cute!
A few weeks after I got Baymax, all three of us were on the bed playing after waking up from a nap. Baymax got too close to the edge of the bed and fell off. He started crying. I rushed to him immediately and cradled him in my arms. He was whining a little. I thought he was just shaken up from the fall, but when I placed him on the floor and just as he started to walk, he fell forward and started crying loudly. Something was wrong. I rushed him to my vet immediately. They took some x-rays and initially thought it was a growth plate fracture on his shoulder, but after a radiologist review, there was actually nothing wrong with his legs at all. The vet prescribed some pain medication and recommended lots of rest and love – Baymax will heal on his own over time and he did! It took him about 3 weeks to recover and throughout that time, he was limping everywhere, but now he’s perfectly fine! You can’t even tell that he was hurt before.
Fatigue had set in during October. Since I started my job in May, I have been only getting 3-4 hours of sleep per night during the week and so I would sleep all weekend to catch up. As a result, the frequency of posting went way down, and then I also caught a nasty cold the last week of October. Just as I had gotten over that, I got the stomach flu. While I was sick, I literally went to work, came home, ate and slept and repeat. I didn’t do anything else and because of this, I think I’m finally back to 100% health and am now sleeping regularly! I hate getting sick, but I’m glad that it’s allowed my body to rest and reset.
My birthday was in October. I celebrated it with Chris, family, and friends! Of course, I didn’t forget to claim my birthday freebies from Ulta and Sephora. My sister and I got mani-pedis and ate a whole bunch of cupcakes. Chris took me out for dinner and got me the beautiful white set of vegan makeup brushes by Shaanxo’s XO Beauty! I decided to get myself a little gift and break my no-buy at the time – the Jeffree Star Nudes Liquid Lipstick Vault! I’m so glad that I have finally tried out these liquid lipsticks! I’m definitely going to do a review on it soon.
I just signed a lease for a brand new apartment. The complex will finish building in December. I’m so stoked to be moving! Even though my move-in date isn’t until the last weekend of December, I’m already packing and buying things for my new place – can’t wait for Black Friday!!!!!
Talk to y’all soon~
